• Arrive 10 minutes early so you can pick your angle without stress.
• Step fully out of the bike lane before you stop (people will keep coming, even at dusk).

2. The IJ Ferry

Take the free ferry from behind Amsterdam Centraal and do a quick out‑and‑back ride. On the open IJ, you get big sky and clean light (plus wind — bring one extra layer).

3. The Blue Bridge (Blauwbrug)

From Blauwbrug over the Amstel, you can look downriver toward the Stopera and Zwanenburgwal. It’s wide water, open sightlines, and a nice “stand still for a minute” spot when the city is busy.
